Session 6: Defending the Faith with Chuck Colson
After the morning break we had Chuck Colson. With as long as I have been in the Christian subculture, I have never heard Mr. Colson speak so I was looking forward to this.
Unfortunately, I was left a little disappointed.
Chuck was also speaking about his new book, Defending the Faith.
He started by talking about how little Christians today have an orthodox faith with a full 57% of Evangelicals thinking that there is more than one way to God.
I think he would have been well served to talk about why having an orthodox, Christian faith is so important to have but instead spent most of the time talking about the 14 points of belief shared in his book.
So, to a group of fairly right on theologians, he did theology and did so at a rapid pace.
He threw in some quotes and stories, I assume from his book, that look quite good. I will probably pick it up as a teaching resource at some point.
Next up, Catherine Rohr. (I will need to post tonight….it is after lunch and the session is starting.)
