Sure, we all have. And, on matters of theology and the Bible, we are quite informed. But, when it comes to being informed on other matters it appears that pastors are less informed then the people they pastor!

A couple of interesting things jump out to me.

One, the only area pastors feel more informed then the laity is in the area of politics. This could be good or bad.

Secondly, the area where we feel least capable and informed is in the area of the Internet…which is changing the world as we know it. This is one where we, as a whole, need to get on a steep learning curve.

I would like to think that part of the results are because of the humility of pastors, but when I think of myself I don’t have a clue about what is on television these days.

You know what would be interesting? Ask the laity how informed they think we are compared to them in those areas. The results could be frightening.
