Follow up on Joe Beam

A few days back I posted on Joe Beam and his ministry to married couples…promoting, for lack of a better term, hot sex between a man and wife.
As one could expect with this sort of ministry, it has generated a great deal of controversy and discussion. One place that has an opinion is Red/Blue Christian. I usually find them to be fairly even minded, charitable, and thoughtful. But they really got rilled up. Check it out.

What an interesting post! How does one comment on this? I think it’s okay to teach about sex and to be graphic about it, but why prooftext the Bible in support of it? That’s the weirdest part of it all. One of my teachers in Bible College told her class that she spoke in tongues when she had sex with her husband to keep it holy. What? I don’t think we need to religify marital sex, or bring the law into it either. just do it! thus spoke churchpundit!
