Let me tell you one thing that they did not teach us in seminary…how to run a meeting. I have been in a number of horrible meetings over my years in ministry. Meetings where nothing is accomplished, time is wasted, and we wish we were doing something else. Meetings where we think The Kingdom would have been better off had we not met. Kind of like this Dispair.com poster….

But every once in a while I have been in meetings that are really good, productive, and energizing. As I have evaluated these meetings, they had several things in common… specific steps that were taken to create that successful meetings.

Over the next few weeks I am going to publish a series of posts on those steps in a series called Meeting Mastery. There are six steps we can take to make measurable improvement in the meetings we lead. Not all meetings will be amazing and inspiring, but all can be more effective.

I hope these steps will be helpful to you as following these steps has been helpful for me.
