Trying another feature here at SmartPastor…the Monday Hack.  The Monday Hack is where I will highlight technology that can make your life easier or your ministry more effective.

I just read about this product and based on my quick peek think it looks great.  It is a free newsletter creation web site that lifehacker (where it came to my attention) is calling the "the first must-see web app of 2007."

Again, I can not speak to the software situation at your church, but at my church we are stuck in Publisher 98.  This has some great features you are lacking if you with me in a previous era.

You can find it here: http://www.letterpop.com/

Additionally, I have been messing around with Zoho.  Zoho is an online office suite that has a data base program, word processing, spreadsheets, calendaring functions, demonstration software, a Wiki for group projects, and a virtual office that looks very promising.  It is easier to use and much more powerful than Google docs.  Plus, you can output your files in all the popular formats.

Recently I was traveling but knew I had to be ready to preach on Sunday.  I was able to work on my sermon from three different computers without worrying about what software might be on the machine I was using.  The copy I was working on was always up to date.

The only think I do not like about Zoho thus far is that the ability to organize files is limited to file names.  (Translation – no folders and sub folders.)  And, of course, this is dependent on having a web connection.

You can find them and check them out for yourself at www.zoho.com.
