Fewer than half of all white evangelicals (44%) express support for continuing stem cell research, but this represents a 12-point increase over the past year and is easily the highest level of support recorded among evangelicals in the past five years. Support for continuing stem cell research is highest among mainline Protestants and secular individuals. Among both groups, about seven-in-10 favor continuing stem cell research.
