Anybody else feeling the pinch in the wallet at Christmas?  I ran into the list of ways to save money on your energy bills and thought I would pass it on to my frugal readers.  I assume that most of these savings our based on a worst case cenario, but they are good to think about none the less.

Plus, these are ecology and, in a sense, national security issues.

? Switching to double paned windows, keeping more heat inside your home, could save $436 per year.

? Using less water in the shower, meaning less energy to heat the water, will save $150.

? Replacing inefficient appliances that waste energy could save hundreds of dollars per year.

? Checking your cars air filter monthly you will save $130 per year.

? Line-drying your clothes in the spring and summer instead of using the dryer could save $75 per year.

? Making sure that your walls and ceilings are insulated could save $245 per year.

? Moving your heater thermostat down two degrees in winter and up two degrees in the summer will save about $98 per year.

? Replacing 3 frequently used light bulbs with compact fluorescent bulbs will save $60 per year.

? Cleaning or replacing dirty air conditioner filters, as recommended, will save about $150 per year.

? Keeping your water heater insulated and at a temperature of 120 degrees could save about $70 per year.

? Using caulk and weather strips on your doorways and windows could save $274 per year.
