If you have read this site for a few months, you will know that I think Gmail is one of the greater applications to come down the pipe for communication in the past few years.

Today I stumbled upon a “bookmarklet” that makes it even easier and faster to send an e-mail with Gmail.

First, download and install Firefox.

Secondly, if you have not, set up a Gmail account. You now have both Gmail and Firefox. Start running the Firefox browser and make sure you are signed into your gmail account.

Thirdly, under “view” on the drop down menus in Firefoxm, check off the “bookmarks tool bar” under the toolbars option. Now you should have a blank bar under the address bar in your firefox browser.

Finally, visit this post on lifehacker and look for the the gmail bookmarklet labeled “GmailThis Supercharged” at the bottom of the post (before the comments). Then click once on that, drag that bookmarklet up to the empty bar on your firefox browser and start gmailing.

From now on, when you visit a web page you can highlight some text, press the new “GmailThis” bookmaklet, and you and send what you highlight. Also, you can just click the bookmarklet while on any page and that URL is sent via gmail.

One more way to make sending an e-mail easier.
